Training Objective:

     The professional goal is to cultivate the talents who are morally, intellectually and physically comprehensive. In order to meet the needs of socialism modernization, the profession trains the students who not only have the solid environmental engineering theoretical basis , strong engineering capability and the professional skills in the production line, but also application-oriented talents who have relevant laws and regulations, management knowledge ,foreign languages and ability of integrated computer applications. The graduate students can apply their professional knowledge in various fields such as urban environmental sanitation management, indoor environmental purification, optimal use of resources and energy, sewage treatment, clean production and other aspects of technology, engineering design, construction, management and teaching and so on in various government departments and enterprises.
 
Environment quality management and ISO14000
     In this curriculum, the following contents are presented: environment management system, rules and regulations system of environmental protection in China, rules and regulations of environment protection, environment standard, ISO14000, standare on environment management, establishment and implement of environmental management system, initial environment evaluation, planning of environment management system (environmental policies, environmental objects and targats, implement of environmental management programme, struction and responsibility, program file), documentation of environmental management system, examination of environmental management system.
 
Environmental impact assessment
    In this curriculum, the following contents are covered: concept and rules of environmental impact assessment, governing laws, standard system, management procedure, methods and technology, overall assessment method, application of GIS, and assessment of surface water, soil, atmosphere, noises, regional area, ecological environment, socio-economic, and cultural environment.
 
Introduction Environmental Microbiology
It is a core curriculum of Environmental Engineering. Knowledge on microorganism in waste water, bio-treatment of organic solid wastes and self-cleaning process of water, gas, and soil, is covered in this course. Specifically, it introduces bacteria, actinomyces, yeast, mildew, protozoan, mini-metazoon, and alga, zyme of microorganism, nutrition, and aspiration, relations between microorganisms and environment, growth rules, genetic variation, ecological distribution and characteristics of microorganisms inartificial environment, functions in material circulation and environmental protection.
 
Introduction to Environment Monitoring
   It is a major and core curriculum of Environmental Engineering. As an aid to environmental protection, it serves to provide support to environmental management, using physical, chemical and even biological methods. In this curriculum, basic principles and methods of environmental monitoring, and simple monitoring methods and modern monitoring technologies are covered. In addition, sampling, conservation and pretreatment of samples, monitoring of water and waste water, monitoring of atmosphere and waste gas, as well as monitoring of solid waste and noises are introduced in the subject.
 
Introduction to fluid mechanics and machine
    In this curriculum the following contented are presented: fluid static pressure and its characteristics, constant current and non-current, layer loss and partial loss of resistance, one-dimensional flow model, continuous equation of one-dimensional fluid, total energy equation, momentum equation, computation of energy loss, continuous differential equation of fluid, dynamic differential equation and integration of ideal fluid, structure characteristics of centrifugal pump and centrifugal fan, cavitation and installation height of centrifugal pump.
 
Introduction to “Air Pollution Control Engineering”
    In this curriculum, the following contents are covered: Air pollutants and environment quality standard, Air pollution and weather, Air diffusion mode and estimate of concentration of pollutants, design of chimney height, Air pollution factor and control principle, basic methods, foundation of dust-cleaning technology, performance of dust-cleaner, mechanic cleaner, wet dust-cleaner, filter cleaner, electric cleaner, adsorption, catalytic transformation, treatment of waste Air containing SO2, treatment of waste Air containing NOx, treatment of waste Air containing fluorine, treatment of organic waste Air, treatment of car tail Air, treatment of odor.
 
Introduction to Urban Ecology
     Urban Ecology, which is an interdisciplinary subject comprising Ecology, Environment, Urban and other subjects, analyzes and explores relations between urban ecology and urban environment in accordance with principles and methods of ecology. In this course, the following contents are covered: concept of urban ecology, academic basis for urban ecology, structure and components of ecosystems, basic functions and other basic principles of ecosystems, structure, and basic functions and characteristics of urban ecosystems, ecological problems, ecological balance, urban population, urban atmosphere, water and noises, urban disasters including flood, fire, and methods to tackle these disasters, urban scenic ecology, assessment of urban environment quality and sustainable development.
 
 
Introduction to Solid Waste Treatment and Disposal
    It is a major and special course of Environmental Engineering. Four major parts are introduced in it:Sources, types, characteristics of solid wastes, ways to control pollution, treatment and disposal technologies, and overall management are presented in part One, pre-treatment methods of solid wastes are covered in part Two, mainly including collection, compaction, crushing, separation and solidification, in part Three, reuse technologies of solid waste are introduced, including incineration, pyrolyze, and composting, part Four introduces disposal principles, art, and technology of solid wastes, such as ocean disposal and land disposal.
 
Introduction to water pollution control engineering
    In this course the following contents: general introduction, movement and transformation of contaminants in aquatic environment, physical treatment of polluted water, basic concepts of wastewater treatment and foundation of bio-chemical reaction dynamics, growth law and environment of microorganisms, Monod equation, land treatment of waste water, stabilization pond, bio-membrane, active sludge, anaerobic treatment, chemical treatment, physico-chemical treatment, deep treatment, minitype waste water treatment facility, sludge treatment and disposal, design of waste water treatment plant.
 
Introduction to environmental hygienics
    Environmental hygienics, which is a major part of environmental science, focuses on relations between natural and resident environment and human health to provide hygienic support for establishment of environmental hygienic standard. The following major contents are covered in the course: environment and health, air hygienics, aquatic hygienics, supply water hygienics, biogeochemical diseases, hygiene of houses, offices and public locations, household chemicals and cosmitic.
